Here they are, the first photos from Ghana!

These women are recently trained hairdressers at a graduation party. As part of the event these plastic bags were removed in front of the audience to unveil colorful, sculptural hair styles.

Most social events in Ghana such as weddings, funerals, and parties involve some activities designed to raise funds for the guest of honor (or their family in the case of a funeral). In this case the women came up on stage to dance. Anyone from the audience could join them by placing some small amount of money on their head or shoulders. The money falls to the ground and is gathered up by an assistant. I saw a wedding video where they did the same thing to the bride and groom.
