There are some new puppies at my house. Cute and tempting, but increasingly skinny and scruffy. Street dogs that we want to pick up and hug, but pick up and hold at an arms length instead because they might have diseases or bugs or something. Also because cuddling a dog here would brand us as weirdos. Ghanaians don?t pet or cuddle dogs usually. They might throw them some bones, but that?s the extent of the affection for domestic animals here. These aren?t dogs that get vaccinations or fed-regularly or bathed.
